SPRING - Liver & Gallbladder & Healthy Growth and Movement Forward

3/25/2025, 6-7:30p

$40

On the Chinese medicine calendar, Spring is the first season in the year.  During this season we concentrate on detoxification and the organ system we focus on is the Liver and the Gallbladder.  It is the season where we shed the accumulations of toxins that can happen as a result of eating more acidic foods during the Winter months.  The emotion of focus for Spring is anger.  During this class I will give strategies for the healthy expression of anger and also ways of releasing unexpressed anger.  Unexpressed anger shows up as depression and also as physical pain in the body such as headaches, migraines, arthritis and menstrual difficulties.  All "innappropriate movement" in the body has its root in the liver also - examples are Parkinson's, tourettes, tics and tremors, restless leg syndrome, seizures, vertigo and epilepsy.    Since this is the first season of the year, it relates to "new beginnings" and getting started.  If someone has difficulties with beginning new projects or starting a program, working on the health of the liver is indicated.  In Chinese medicine theory the gallbladder is in charge of "Action" in the body so if a person is either impulsive (overactive gallbladder energy) or indecisive (defiecient/stagnant liver energy) then that is an indication that the gallbladder could use tonification.  Even if the gallbladder has been removed, a person still has the energetic meridians for it in the body, so practices can still improve overall health.   Foods and herbs as well as special practices to enhance the health of this system will be given and after a tongue exam of each participant, I will be able to let you know if your body would benefit from more cooked or raw foods.  Come join us and start the detoxification and cleansing for a healthy 2025!

We will be enjoying a delicious bowl of green soup and a cup of liver detox tea during class.
