Winter Wellness & Virus First Aid - Lecture and yoga practice

We are entering the season of the year when many people get sick. Children are going back to school and many people are returning back to the workplace after quarantine. In this class we will be discussing ways to boost the immune system to protect against colds, flu, and yes, even COVID. Foods, herbs and lifestyle practices will all be discussed along with recipes distributed. I will also be providing information on what to do at the first sign of viral attack. There are practices from a Chinese medicine standpoint that help our bodies fight the disease so it does not sink deeply in the body and leave an individual with symptoms long after the virus is gone. When that happens, it is a sure sign that the immune system is not functioning optimally. After this class you will be armed to confidently take on whatever the coming season brings!

After Eileen's lecture, Deanna will lead a yoga practice with poses to help strengthen the immune system. Through gentle and restorative yoga and breath work, we can help calm the nervous system, which in turn boosts the immune system. By bringing the system into a relaxed state, we give our bodies the best chance of fighting off illness.
