2) Heart/Small Intestine - Summer - "Shen" or Spirit
3)Stomach/Spleen/Pancreas- Late Summer - Worry
4) Lung/Large Intestine - Autumn - Grief
5) Kidney/Bladder/Adrenals- Winter - Fear
Chinese Dietetics - using the Five Elements in food therapy. Foods and herbs fall into 3 categories - temperature, taste and energy. Once a person's constitution is established then balancing, healing diet can be administered using the correct properties for each individual
Tongue and pulse reading for diagnosing purposes
The same Western diagnosis or symptom patterns can have different root causes. We use tongue and pulse to determine the root of the symptoms so we can balance the root cause and eradicate the symptoms. This helps to individualize protocols.
Commonly used Chinese Patent formulas - there are a lot!
learning the applications and herbal ingredients for these ancient healing formulas and applying them to cases.
*Clinic practice - conducting intakes, developing client repoire, and developing protocols
*"Final Exam" - complete protocols will be developed including herbal, diet and lifestyle
suggestions.
Upon completion of this course, each student will be able to assess a client or family member, determine root cause, and develop an individualized healing protocol- one that balances body and mind, using herbs, food and lifestyle suggestions.
